A cat named Kroshik, who was losing weight, has died in Perm. The exact cause of death of the cat, who suffered from obesity, will only be known next week.
Galina, the owner of the Matroskin cat shelter, told Gazeta.Ru about this.
According to her, the cat was found to have several tumors that were previously unsuspected. An examination will begin on Monday, October 28, to determine why the animal died.
"The cat started suffocating two days ago, he was lying in an oxygen chamber at the clinic. For the last two hours we have been practically pumping him out so that he could continue to breathe, so that he could survive. Unfortunately, we do not yet know the true reasons. But thanks to the fact that he was able to lose three kilograms, the ultrasound sensors worked, and the doctors were able to see multiple tumors in the spleen, and they do not exclude metastases in the lungs. Therefore, it is very difficult to judge what was the root cause – excess weight or tumors. When this is a large combination of such multiple organ failure, the body simply cannot cope, despite the fact that Kroshik is a real fighter. We are impatiently waiting for Monday to begin the examination, and already understand why Kroshik died. We will wait for the conclusion for about five days," Galina said.
The woman noted that before the tragedy, Kroshik had no problems with his tests, and his behavior did not indicate serious health problems.
Let us recall that at the end of August, volunteers from the Perm shelter "Matroskin" found a homeless cat in the basement of a hospital and named him Kroshik. Kroshik was transferred to a rehabilitation center and assigned a weight loss program. At the last weigh-in, his weight was about 14 kg.
The day before, the animal was urgently taken to a veterinary clinic due to breathing problems and placed in an oxygen chamber. Later, the Matroskin shelter reported that Kroshik had died.
