In 2024, the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan stopped the activities of 19 especially dangerous organized crime groups in the country. Among the 98 detained by the committee were accomplices of foreign criminal leaders. This was reported by the press service of the committee.
72 leaders and active members of these groups were brought to criminal responsibility for committing serious and especially serious crimes.
"A total of 98 people, including accomplices of foreign criminal leaders, have been detained on suspicion of committing murders, robberies, extortion, assault and other serious crimes. Of these, 40 have been convicted, and pre-trial investigations are still underway for the rest. Measures to combat organized crime are ongoing," the statement said.
