US Ambassador to Kazakhstan Daniel Rosenblum will leave his post on January 20, the US Embassy press service reported. After much consideration, he has decided to step down and end his 28-year career, which spanned five US presidential administrations and eight secretaries of state.
Rosenblum expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent the United States in Kazakhstan, a country with which the U.S. has built a strong and growing partnership, the embassy noted.
"It has been a great honor to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan. I am especially pleased to have had the opportunity to get to know the Kazakh people, to visit all regions of the country, and to learn about its unique history. During my time here, I have developed a deep respect for the culture and traditions of Kazakhstan," said Ambassador Rosenblum.
The embassy will then be led by Deputy Chief of Mission Deborah Robinson, who will serve as Chargé d'Affaires until a new ambassador is appointed and confirmed, and by US Consul General Michelle Yerkin in Almaty.
