Representatives of the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information told Vlast that the website of the Youth Information Service of Kazakhstan (MISK) project youth.kz was blocked in Kazakhstan on the basis of an order from the Department of Economic Investigations for the Mangistau Region.
According to the agency, the Department of Economic Investigations for the Mangistau Region added the site to the CyberSupervision information system on March 1, 2024, “to prohibit the activities of a financial pyramid and other fraudulent organizations on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
The ministry commented as follows: “In this regard, the enterprise sent a draft order to take measures to restrict access to the Internet resource.”
MISK contacted the Ministry of Culture and Information.
Earlier, on November 28, MISK reported that the website of their media project youth.kz is blocked in Kazakhstan, but can be opened via VPN. The service also notes that they have not received any notifications or messages from the above-mentioned government agencies.
