The statement about fighter flights over Astana, scheduled for November 23 and 24, appeared on the official Telegram channel of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The department reassured the residents of the capital, explaining that the event would be a training exercise and would not disrupt the city's normal life.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled fighter aircraft flights will take place over Astana on November 23 and 24.
"The event is being held as part of training flights of the Air Defense Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan to demonstrate the use of special smoke plumes. The fighters will fly over at a safe altitude and will not disrupt the usual rhythm of city life," the ministry said in a statement.
The department also assured that the flights were organized in strict accordance with safety measures and did not pose a threat to the population, and the colored smoke used did not cause environmental harm.
Let us recall that earlier, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave instructions to the Prime Minister, the head of the presidential administration, the heads of all law enforcement agencies and akims to take urgent measures to ensure the security of the main military and civilian facilities in connection with the escalation of the situation around Ukraine.
