160 million tenge may be spent on research into the impact of time zone changes on the health of Kazakhstanis. This was reported by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek. But in reality, he believes, less will be allocated, writes Informburo.
"The application was submitted for a three-year budget – 160 million tenge. But in reality it will be less. I think at least half – 90-100 million tenge. The meeting of the Higher Scientific and Technical Commission was held on November 19, we will soon announce the competition. The National Scientific Council will then determine the real cost," the minister said.
The decision to conduct additional research was made due to public demand. But the government had already studied the issue with the involvement of international organizations.
"This is not sociological, but applied research. There is such a concept as circadian rhythms. These are the biological rhythms in which all living organisms exist. The rhythms that wake us up in the morning and make us sleep in the evening. There will be a clear comparison: hormonal levels, melatonin production, circadian rhythms. Do they coincide with the decisions that were made," Nurbek noted.
