Famous Soviet and Russian actress Svetlana Svetlichnaya has died at the age of 84. According to media reports, she had serious health problems in recent years. The sad news was reported by Informburo, citing Russian Telegram channels.
Svetlichnaya's film debut took place in 1959. She played in Mikhail Kalik's film "Lullaby". However, it was a completely different film that brought her wide fame.
"Her most striking role was the fatal seductress Anna Sergeevna in Leonid Gaidai's "The Diamond Arm." In this role, Svetlichnaya humorously embodied a completely new type of woman at that time – modern, stylish, liberated," the portal writes.
Svetlichnaya also played in the films “The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed,” “Seventeen Moments of Spring,” and other popular Soviet and Russian films.
As film critic Susanna Alperina said on her Facebook page, Svetlichnaya was “young and free at heart,” even at an age.
"The first beauty of the USSR. The phrase "It's not my fault! He came himself!" haunted her throughout her life. Now they would say that she became a meme. She passed away, alas, as expected. I followed the news. Many followed. But she will remain in the soul of every viewer forever," Alperina wrote.
The media wrote that Svetlichnaya's health had been failing her in recent years. Because of this, the artist often ended up in the hospital. And in the summer of 2024, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
