Volunteer movement activist Perizat Kairat, suspected of embezzling 1.5 billion tenge from her charity fund, has been arrested for two months. This was reported by the press service of the Astana Investigative Court.
The report states that on November 5, 2024, the court received a petition from the investigative authorities to sanction a preventive measure in the form of detention “in relation to the suspect Kairat P. for a period of up to two months.”
“By the decision of the specialized inter-district investigative court of Astana dated November 16, 2024, the petition to sanction a preventive measure in the form of detention for suspect Kairat P. was granted,” the press service reported.
Other information is not subject to disclosure for now, the court noted.

Recall that on November 14, AFM reported that she was suspected of stealing 1.5 billion tenge from her foundation.
