The film "Bauyrina Salu" by Askhat Kuchinchirekov has been officially selected for the Oscar-2025 award in the nomination "Best Foreign Language Film" from Kazakhstan. This was reported by the official Instagram page of the film.
Earlier, Askhat’s debut directorial work received the highest award of the national Tulpar Prize based on the results of voting by members of the Alliance of Cinematographers of Kazakhstan.
"The American Film Academy voting will take place in three stages. From December 9 to 13, members of the Academy will form a shortlist, which will be made public on December 17. Then voting in accordance with the shortlist will take place from January 8 to 12, 2025, following which the nominees in all categories will be announced on January 17. The third, final round, following which the names of the nominees in each category will be announced, will take place from February 11 to 18, 2025. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on March 2, 2025, in Los Angeles," 98mag reports .
