On October 26, on the Atyrau-Uralsk highway, a driver of a passenger car collided with a truck. The accident claimed the lives of four people. That same morning, the driver of the passenger car was stopped for violating traffic rules. The Atyrau Region Police Department reported the incident.
According to the regional police department, at about 4:00 a.m. on the Atyrau-Uralsk highway, patrol police officers stopped a Daewoo Nexia with Russian license plates.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against the driver for violating traffic rules. The police also reminded the man of the need to "be especially careful at night." But two hours later, the tragedy occurred.
"At about 6:00 a.m., the 38-year-old driver of a Daewoo Nexia lost control and drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a truck. In addition to him, there were three passengers in the car. All four died on the spot, and the car caught fire," the Atyrau Region Department of Police said in a statement.
The police noted that a criminal case had been opened on the incident, and the circumstances of the tragedy were being investigated.
"Dear road users! The road does not forgive mistakes! We ask you not to risk your health, do not go on long trips at night and do not drive when tired, do not put your life and the lives of others at risk. Follow the traffic rules," law enforcement officers warned drivers.
Earlier, a fatal accident occurred on the night of September 15 on the Almaty-Oskemen highway. At about two o'clock in the morning, the driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt crashed into a concrete fence of a toll terminal at high speed, and then drove into a neighboring car. After the impact, the car was thrown to the side, and it collided with a Hyundai Sonata parked in front. The Chevrolet driver died at the scene of the accident.
