Majilis deputy Askhat Aimagambetov stated that the situation in which a teacher involved in decorating the Christmas tree in Semey suffered cannot be considered a “simple” mistake.
"In Semey, teachers were involved in installing a New Year's tree, as a result of which one of our colleagues was seriously injured. This cannot be considered a simple 'mistake'," the deputy wrote.
He noted that such practices are unacceptable, describing them as a serious violation of the law and a manifestation of disrespect for the teaching profession.
"It is necessary to strictly suppress such outdated practices as forced participation of teachers in the installation of New Year trees, street cleaning or other events that are not related to their direct responsibilities. This is not only a demonstration of disrespect for the profession, but also a gross violation of the law," the statement says.
Aimagambetov pointed out the need for the following actions:
-
Conduct a thorough investigation at the regional level and bring those responsible to justice.
-
Strengthening control over compliance with legislation by the Ministry.
-
Strict compliance with the law by heads of educational institutions and education authorities.
In addition, Aimagambetov emphasized that the president has repeatedly emphasized the importance of respecting the rights of teachers.
“The fact that the ministry responded promptly and took this situation under control gives hope,” the deputy noted.
Askhat Aimagambetov wished the injured teacher a speedy recovery.
