An Audi A6 was detained on the Karaganda-Astana highway, in which, during a search of the vehicle, police officers found 13 bags of dried marijuana. This was reported by KazTAG with reference to the press service of the Karaganda Region Police Department.
"During the inspection of the car, police officers found and seized 13 bags of a plant-based substance in the back seat and trunk. According to the expert report, the seized substance turned out to be dried marijuana weighing more than 266 kg," the report said on Sunday.
There were two 38-year-old residents of the Zhambyl region in the car – the driver and his fellow traveler. Arrest was chosen as a preventive measure against both.
Since the beginning of 2024, 446 kilograms of narcotic substances have been seized from illegal circulation, including 100 kilograms of hashish, 180 kilograms of marijuana and 12 kilograms of synthetic drugs.
In addition, more than 130 people were detained in connection with drug crimes, including 12 women and, despite the preventive measures taken, 11 minors.
