On December 10, a fire broke out at the White Bim animal shelter — a residential building burned down. This was reported in a post on the shelter's Instagram page.
The dogs and people are reportedly alive, but they are freezing and urgently need help in acquiring warm clothes and blankets. The shelter also wrote that they need a heat gun to dry out the house, as "the living quarters are in water." The shelter workers said that they had to let the domestic dogs outside – the animals could die in the cold.
According to preliminary information, the cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit in the wiring.
"All the animals are alive, but we really need help. Heating and electricity will not be connected in the near future, we need to wait for the experts' conclusion. We also need to patch up the holes and dry everything. We need warm clothes, blankets, mattresses, and so on. Because everything is flooded and things are unusable. What is needed: a shepherd's shed, a heat gun, hoses, extension cords, wires, awnings and much more," the shelter said in a statement.
Details for assistance can be found on their social media page.
