Kazakh actor Askar Zhumabek, convicted in the case of a fight in an Almaty bar, was released. He himself announced this on his Instagram page.
"Good news! I am among you again," wrote Askar Zhumabek. The actor also posted a video of his reunion with family and friends.
Let us recall that on December 28, 2022, a fight took place in the Little Brazil restaurant involving the sons of oligarchs Bakharidin Ablazimov and Dinmukhamed Idrisov.
Seven people were in the dock – five security guards, a DJ and a visitor to the establishment. They were accused of hooliganism, intentional infliction of serious and moderate bodily harm by a group of people for hooligan motives.
They were sentenced on October 12, 2023.
As Kursiv writes , the court established that on December 28, 2022, in one of the city’s karaoke bars, a verbal altercation occurred between guests and the establishment’s staff, which then turned into a fight.
"The security guards and DJ of the establishment, as well as their acquaintances who were in the bar, began beating up the victims, who were forced to flee the scene. However, the defendants, having caught up with them on the street, continued the fight. Five persons were recognized as victims in the case," the court statement said.
Actor Askar Zhumabek was found guilty under Article 107 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Beating of a person") and received six years in prison. He later appealed to President Tokayev, stating that he had become a defendant in the case, but should have been listed as a victim.
By the way, Bakharidin Ablazimov was included in the list of the richest and most influential Kazakhstanis according to Forbes in May 2023. His fortune is estimated at $238 million. Dinmukhamet Idrisov is also on the Forbes list, his fortune is estimated at $490 million.
