Police in Atyrau have detained a suspect in disseminating the ideas of the religious extremist organization Tablighi Zhamagat, which is banned in Kazakhstan, Polisia.kzreports .
"This movement originated in India and Pakistan. Its ideology boils down to continuous missionary work based on the renunciation of civil rights and obligations, such as providing for a family, caring for parents, raising children, getting an education and permanent work. The organization is recognized as extremist in Kazakhstan and banned by the court for threatening traditional moral and ethical values," the police said.
It was established that the detainee purposefully met young believers in mosques, invited them to his home, where he propagated the ideology of "Tablighi Jamagat" in order to involve them in extremist activities. During a search at his place of residence, books and electronic materials of religious content banned by the court were confiscated. It is known that the 44-year-old suspect had a previous conviction for participating in the activities of this organization.
A criminal case is currently being investigated on the grounds of organizing and participating in the activities of a religious organization banned by a court decision in connection with the implementation of extremist activities.
Other information will not be disclosed in the interests of the investigation.
