In the East Kazakhstan region, options for changing the work schedule of institutions and transport to adapt to a single time zone are being worked out. This was reported by the region's akim, Yermek Kosherbayev, as reported by Informburo.
"We are not talking only about Ust-Kamenogorsk, but about the entire region. We see the situation that is developing. We will talk with the main initiative groups, see how we can adapt the existing schedule of state bodies, transport, and we will make decisions," Kosherbayev said.
However, he could not say what changes should be expected.
"Because everything is different everywhere. Some kindergartens work from 8:00, others from 7:30, some have classes ending at 15:00, 17:00 or another time. We need to find an acceptable solution for everyone. The hospital should work accordingly, clinics, everyone who receives people. This is a layer of work, but in principle, this is all possible," the head of the region added.
He noted that earlier all data on possible difficulties associated with the time change had been sent to the relevant ministries.
"We once lived in winter and summer time. It was also difficult. Now the decision has already been made (a single time zone has been introduced). We, as an executive body, must implement it. Before it was made, all the information was sent to the relevant ministries," Kosherbayev said.
He also specified that when switching to a new time zone, the adaptation period is important, which takes on average 1-2 weeks. The Akimat will take appropriate measures to adapt the population to these changes.
