Workers at Volkswagen plants in Germany have announced a strike against job cuts and wage payments, BILD in Russian reports .
The German trade union IG Metall has announced large-scale warning strikes at all major Volkswagen plants in West Germany in connection with a conflict over working conditions and wages for 120,000 workers at the carmaker. The union said that production at all plants would be temporarily halted in the coming days.

This was preceded by a period of peaceful settlement of the conflict, which ended with actions in Wolfsburg and Zwickau. At the Volkswagen headquarters in Wolfsburg, the union organized an event with bell ringing, and in Zwickau, with the use of red smoke bombs.

“Employees have been outraged by Volkswagen’s plans to cut wages by 10%, as well as the threat of plant closures and mass layoffs,” the publication writes.
It should be noted that this is the first time this has happened in Volkswagen’s 87 years of existence.
Volkswagen has rejected IG Metall's proposals for a special fund to protect jobs, saying it does not solve the problem. The next talks are scheduled for December 9, but the union is bracing for "one of the most serious conflicts in the company's history."
