From December 1, drivers in Kazakhstan face a fine of 18.4 thousand tenge for using summer tires in the winter season, KazTAG reports with reference to the Almaty Police Department.
"During the winter period (December, January, February), it is prohibited to operate vehicles that are not equipped with winter tires. Winter tires are installed on all wheels of the vehicle," said Askhat Kulbayev, head of the administrative police department of the Almaty city police department.
According to paragraph five of Article 590 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan, driving a vehicle that does not comply with technical regulations and national standards is punishable by a fine of five MCI (18.4 thousand tenge). In case of repeated violation, the fine increases to 20 MCI (73.8 thousand tenge).
