The Ministry of Finance clarified for whom annual filing of a declaration will remain mandatory, and who can file it voluntarily.
The Ministry of Finance proposed to maintain the obligation for citizens to submit a declaration:
- having assets abroad;
- candidates for elective office, for public office and equivalent positions;
- wishing to become major participants in banks, the securities market, and insurance organizations.
“The obligation to submit an annual declaration of income and property for civil servants, managers, founders of quasi-state and private companies (including owners of shares over 25% or more), their spouses, as well as persons who have assets outside the Republic of Kazakhstan and (or) who have received income that is taxed independently, remains,” the ministry said.
The agency proposes to establish a similar obligation for those who have made large purchases worth over 20,000 MCI (74 million tenge).
Other citizens will be given the right to voluntarily submit a declaration of assets and liabilities.
